Friday Five: Duck You Suckers

Oh yes, I went there. 1600 Words A Day is also going somewhere it has never gone before (and probably never will again): five vampire-related thingies that are too fun to resist sharing. Please note: while this blog is primarily all about all things YA/teen book-related, I refuse to make vampires the focus of this blog. Still, sometimes, vampires can be cool.

  1. I'm still chugging along through John Ajvide Lindqvist's Let the Right One In. Aside from his obvious obsession with Morrisey and slightly less obvious fixation on child pornography, it's a surprisingly well-written and chilling vampire book. I'm not done yet, but it's good so far. Also, no vampire story is complete without some kind of warped sexual behavior, right?
  2. Creepy/silly video on how to make fake blood--Hollywood style (vegetarian recipe for the socially conscious vampire)
  3. I'm making progress on my Descent Into Darkness Wrap from Vampire Knits.
  4. The original Fright Night in all of its 80s glory
  5. The remake of Fright Night. I think it's unnecessary, but I may have to go see it anyway. It looks awesome.
