Notes from Pikes Peak Writers Conference 2012
Oh 1600 Words minions, how I've missed you! Normally, I hate to go more than a few days without updating my blog, but my life has been crazy for the past couple of weeks. My husband gave me his head cold. Then, I interviewed for a PhD program that gave me about three days' notice for a half day interview and rejected me by a form letter riddled with typos. All I can say is stay classy, Montclair. (I know that's kind of obnoxious, but they deserve to be exposed.)
After all that, I went on a combined vacation/conference trip to Colorado. For anyone who has never been to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference (PPWC), my short evaluation of it is: you must go! PPWC is one of the few writers conferences that still feeds attendees three meals a day. Writers also have the opportunity to network with and pitch to agents at top agencies. Also, the conference is held in the Colorado Springs Marriott and is within easy driving distance of all kinds of pretty places. Of course, I wasn't savvy enough to allow time to go sight-seeing, but next time I will.
Now it's time to get back to reading, writing and reviewing :-)
