Past the 10,000 word mark--Woot!
Oh yes! I am finally past 10,000 words. There may be an end in sight for the seemingly neverending revision of this book.
In other writerly news, it's eerie how well ask and ye shall receive can work. Out of the blue, I received an email via SCBWI.org asking if I would be interested in joining a new critique group that's forming in my area. So much happy today. I think I'm going to explode!
This is all timely too because I just put my poor protagonist through the ringer. Poor sad tomato!
At lunch today, I'll continue with my first Scott Westerfeld adventure with Uglies. It's good so far! I'm also trudging through The Iron King and the audiobook version of Jane Slayre. I really want to love Jane Slayre but I think the tedium of the original story is overwhelming the humor in the parody. Not even bloodlust can save us from the melodrama and ennui. ::dramatic sigh::
Sorry if I inadvertently offended any Bronte fans. I just don't think it's my thing.
