Call for ARCs--But read the guidelines
It's 2020 and I want to pump up the volume on this blog a little bit. Toward this end, I am making an effort to get my hands on more books that are being released in 2020. That said, I have a day job, and I'm a writer. I also volunteer with local writers' organizations. I love to help writers, and I'm hoping this is a way to do that, but I have a full plate, and have to set a few limits in an attempt to keep all of us happy and sane.
How to request a review?
Email me a request to review your ARC here. I have every intention of responding to all messages, and I usually do, eventually, but if you don't hear anything from me for a month, I'm probably buried in work and can't even consider reading anything else. I don't hold it against anyone if they choose to follow-up after a month, but I would give it that amount of time.
Do you have requirements?
Yes.
Please only send something that has a publication date, preferably something that isn't being self-published. I will consider a limited number of self-published ARCs, but they really need to be in my wheel house. (By limited, I mean like 2.)
I'm not a beta reader, and I don't want to enter into any sort of quagmire of handling a stranger's unpublished manuscript. I would never steal anything from anyone, but I just don't even want the perception that could happen.
I don't read every genre for reviews here. Your book must be in one of the following genres for me to consider reading the ARC and reviewing it here: Women's Fiction (Think Margaret Atwood, Nell Freudenberger, or Mona Awad not Nora Roberts), Memoir/Travel, Recipes, Humor, and Horror (preferably supernatural and without futuristic fantasy elements--sorry.)
Absolutely NO fantasy, sci-fi, or romance. Yours could be great, and I'll probably still hate it.
