Castles, princesses and monsters

For anyone who doesn't already follow Dystel & Goderich Literary Management's blog, I suggest that you start following it. The agents take turns writing the posts so it's updated daily and, I think, it's very entertaining. I'm particularly drawn to Rachel Stout. I don't know why, but I think her recent post Once upon a time in a land far, far away . . . proves that we're kindred spirits. I love stories, but myths, legends and fairy tales are my favorite! They're meant to be over the top; that's part of the charm.

Fairy tales seem to be habit-forming for me. Rachel Stout mentioned them and I immediately dove into a Fairy Tale Theatre binge. Fairy Tale Theatre watching made me want to see the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast again. Not sure what's next after this. I definitely want to read My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me: Forty New Fairy Tales and From the Beast to the Blonde: On Fairy Tales and Their Tellers. They've been on my "to read" list for a while now. It's just hard to get to them. So many fun books are coming out so fast! Also, I'm trying to take time to savor the one I'm on.
